Walk-In Lunch Ministry, a project of the Downtown Community Ministry, provides lunch Monday through Friday at five downtown churches. Members of First Presbyterian serve lunch at Second Presbyterian on the third Monday of each month.

Making sandwiches and serving up lunch every other month—that is what volunteers from our congregation are doing downtown.  We show up at Second Presbyterian to compile sandwiches, prepare trays and help serve homeless people who walk in from the streets.  Five to seven people are needed each month.  Volunteers do not have to come each date.  Volunteer opportunities include:

            Lunch preparers                   (10:15-11:45 a.m.)

Buyer                                       Buys bread and milk, reimbursed by the church

            Lunch servers                        (11:40 a.m.-12:45 p.m.)

Dates for 2009: December 21
