Our Mission Statement
The youth ministry of First Presbyterian Church exists to empower youth to worship God, study the scriptures, grow in faith, build the community and to love one another. Through various ministry opportunities, FPC offers a safe, welcoming environment in which youth are encouraged and supported in their faith development.

Service and Missions
Service is an important part of the FPC youth ministry as it is our opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ and put our faith into action. The youth of FPC participate in monthly mission projects right here in our own community. Projects range from collecting food for local food banks to assisting with the Salvation Army's Angel Tree project. Check the youth ministry calendar for upcoming mission opportunities.

Mission Trips

Senior High Mission Trip
Each summer, our senior high youth participate in a non-local mission trip. For the past three summers, we have teamed up with Faith Ministry to build homes for the residents of Miguel Aleman, Mexico. During these mission trips, the youth gain a better understanding of the Mexican culture and way of life as we work, worship and enjoy in fellowship with the people of Miguel Aleman. Youth experience the joy that comes from being the hands and feet of Christ as they work not only as a team, but also alongside those they are serving. Through this experience, our youth cultivate new friendships, develop stronger relationships with God, and a better understanding of how to share the gifts that God has given to them.

Middle School Mission Trip
Our middle school youth take a mission trip each summer as we share the love of Christ with other people. In the summer of 2007, we will travel to Asheville, North Carolina to work with ReCreation Experiences in home repair missions. This is a great opportunity for our middle school youth to work with others and helps prepare them for the senior high Mexico mission trip.

Middle School A.C.T.S. is another summer mission opportunity for our middle school youth. This is a city-wide mission project in which we team up with several other area churches for a week of service right here in Richmond.
