Children
At First Presbyterian Church, our mission is to develop each child's faith relationship with God and to nurture a desire to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ.
Sunday School
Sunday School classes are offered for all children at 9:30-10:30 am each Sunday from September through May.
Children's Worship
This program is offered during both the 8:30 am and 11:00 am worship services and is designed for
children age 4 through grade 2. Children in this age group attend part of the
regular worship service with their families and then are dismissed after the "time with children."
Parents pick up their children in room 208 and 206 immediately after the worship service.
Children's Worship allows children to explore worship at their own pace. During this time, children are preparing for their eventual full participation in the worship service while developing skills to give greater meaning to the worship experience.

Sunday Childcare
Childcare is provided for infants to two-year-olds during Sunday School and for infants to children age 3 during worship. Infants, wobblers,
toddlers and children age 3 are located on the first floor with a sign-in station outside room 105.
Trained and paid childcare providers and church members provide secure care for our children. Parents of children from infants through age 3 participate as nursery volunteers on a rotating schedule throughout the year.
Fellowship and Service Opportunities/Summer Opportunities
We offer fellowship and service opportunities during the regular church year, including the Faithfriendz Book Club (Grades 4-5 girls), Funtastic First Fridays (Grades 1-3) and N-SPIRE (Grades 4-5) fellowship gatherings. Age-appropriate service projects are also featured at these monthly get-togethers.
We also offer Vacation Bible School, Camp Hanover Day Camp at FPC and other educational and fellowship opportunities during the summer.
Child and Youth Protection Policy
In order to provide a safe and secure environment for children and youth, First Presbyterian Church has adopted a Child and Youth Protection Policy. Training sessions for adult volunteers who will be working with children and youth at FPC are held in Room 207 from 10:30-11:00 am on the third Sunday of every month.
