Service/Missions
Service is an important part of the FPC youth ministry as it is our opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ and to put our faith into action. The youth of FPC participate in monthly mission projects right here in our own community. Projects range from collecting food for local food banks to assisting with the Salvation Army's Angel Tree project. Check the youth ministry calendar for upcoming mission opportunities.

MEXICO MISSION TRIP

July 13 - 20, 2008

Each summer, our senior high youth participate in a non-local mission trip. For the past four summers, we have teamed up with Faith Ministry to build homes for the residents of Miguel Aleman, Mexico. During these Mexico mission trips, the youth have gained a better understanding of the Mexican culture and way of life as they work, worship and fellowship with the people of Miguel Aleman. They have experienced the joy that comes from being the hands and feet of Christ as they work not only as a team, but also alongside those for whom they are serving through the construction of community houses from the ground up. These mission trips provide our youth with the opportunity to cultivate new friendships, develop stronger relationships with God, and share the gifts God has given them. These trips include a lot of hard work and challenge our youth to grow in many ways.

Middle School
Our middle school youth take part in a local mission trip each summer as we share the love of Christ with other people right here in the Richmond area. The middle school youth participate in Richmond A.C.T.S. ( A Call To Service) which is a partnership with several other Richmond churches. The youth will gather for a week at one of the churches and each day will go out in the city to different ministry/mission sites. The sites include everything from working with children to working in food pantries and kitchens to yard work for elderly or disabled and everything in between. During this week our middle school youth will develop great relationships with youth from other churches while sharing the love of Christ with strangers. This is a great opportunity for our middle school youth and helps prepare them for the senior high Mexico mission Trip.
