Presbyterian Women circles meet monthly, September through May. Join one today!
Circle 2 is a dynamic group of mothers of young children. We meet monthly in room 216 at the church on the second Tuesday of the month at 9:30 am to enjoy fellowship, to offer mutual support and to study how best to spiritually nourish our children and ourselves. A nursery is provided free of charge for our meetings. We provide care packages for the new births in the church throughout the year as a service project. We also sponsor camperships and a Christmas family.
Circle 3 is designed for women in their 30’s through 50’s. We meet in room 205 at the church on the third Tuesday of each month. We read and discuss books with a Christian message. Service projects have included book drives, adoption of a Christmas family, and George Mason Elementary School.
Circle 4 meets at 10:00 am on the second Tuesday of each month in a member’s home or at the church. We read and discuss books relating to Christian faith and moral values in an effort to expand our focus and gain insight in our faith journey. We support service projects, including Bethlehem Baptist Church in Belarus, Boaz & Ruth, Camp Hanover, Sue Makin (a medical missionary in Malawi) and Nicaraguan scholarships.
Circle 5 meets at 10:30 am on the second Tuesday of each month in Westminster Canterbury’s 5th floor meeting room. We enjoy fellowship, have Bible study and support various service projects. We have helped with CARITAS, camperships, and a Christmas family.
Circle 6 consists of a group of “seniors” who are companionable, sociable, and enjoy learning. Circle 6 meets at 10:30 am on the second Tuesday of each month in members’ homes. We support various projects and have an excellent Bible study leader.
Circle 7 members have jobs or other obligations that keep them from attending daytime circles. We meet in the homes of members, sharing dessert and coffee or tea, starting at 7:00 pm on the second Monday of each month. Exceptions to this schedule occur during the months when FPC hosts CARITAS when we provide and serve dinner. Members are encouraged to support projects, some of which have included a Boy Scout project, a refugee family, the Foodbank and our missionaries.
Circle 8 meets at 9:30 am in room 205 at the church on the fourth Tuesday of each month. We are eager to learn and to hear God’s call through the Bible. Following the business part of our meeting, one of the FPC pastors teaches the Bible study. This year, we will learn about God’s call by studying his call to Jonah and Ruth. Some of our projects include providing gifts for a large family at Christmas, serving CARITAS dinners, Elijah House Academy, Salvation Army, Cookies and Milk program, George Mason Elementary School, Good Samaritan Ministries, Christian Community Academy and camperships.
Circle 10 is for those women who are unable to attend active Circle meetings. With no scheduled meetings or projects, they are encouraged to support the mission of PW by attending the monthly PW luncheons, making a PW pledge, and serving the church comminuty.
